I have remembered where Ste & I went Barbel Bashing in Yorkshire.
I sent the river owners an email and guess what!!................

We can go!

It is £5 per day for fishing & £5 per night to camp by the river!!!!
So its £10 per day + food + bait + fuel.

Because this is a river it will be SENSIBLE anglers only! Shocked

Rivers are dangerous, they can kill - so its 2 members to 1 adult.
So far there is only me going, so 2 places available.

If you thought big carp could fight, wait until you get a barbel in a river - they make carp look GAY!!!!! Razz Very Happy Laughing

Dont know when I'm going yet - but it will involve camping with NO 'creature comforts'. Neutral Suspect

Laughing Laughing I've just seen on the MAD website that apparently no-one knows where I'm doing this overnght session. Well, i posted in this thread because thats exactly where I'm going. Cundal Lodge Farm, Cundal (near Thirsk), North Yorkshire. I will be fishing the River Swale. Gonna take the tent etc. Not sure what time I'm setting off but it'll have to be before 1pm to get there and set up and have a fish. I'm gonna fish for barbel, chub and pike. If anyone wants to come then ring Jo. You will need your own bait (I'm taking bread, pellets, luncheon meat and deadbaits) and your own food & drinks. Treat it like a camping trip. Anyone wanting to come could use the clubs tackle and clothing....I think. Most of all you will need to be sensible next to the river. I can take 2 people maximum - first come, first...you know the rest.

ps. my avatar has me holding a pike caught from the very same stretch of river....looks nice don't it?

pps. I should also say that I will be treating the trip as more of a coaching session for anyone who joins me.
