Fished from 8pm to midnight first day. Had a chub about 2lb and an eel about 18 inches long. Both were caught on ledgered luncheon meat. I went to sleep in the car at about 12.30am. Woke up at about 6.30am next day and went off in search of some pike with float-fished deadbaits. Had 5 runs and 3 fish. Biggest was 12lb then a 8lber and a 4lber. Went back to my barbel peg and tried again. Got a bite and played a good fish into the net....but it turned out to be another pike weighing about 9-10lb, this time on ledgered luncheon meat.
So, no barbel this time Crying or Very sad (which was my intended target species) but I'm glad I took the pike tackle with me. Very Happy

Baits - Luncheon Meat, Pellets, Maggots, Bread, Deadbait(mackerel, smelt)
