Horseshoe lake 08
Pete and his Mum & Dad went up to Horseshoe Lake this evening (14th May). The Heron was in the shallow end of the conservation area, but it flew off as we were going through the gate.
We just took 2 whips with us and some pinkies. No chairs or anything, we just sat on the platforms like garden gnomes!
We were in the pegs near the picnic table.
Lots of fish were moving about and Mum was first to catch, a Roach. Then a couple of Rudd. Missed loads of bites as well.
Pete who was busy trying to catch 'Freddie' the stickleback soon decided to move nearer his Mum.
Straight away he was catching the same Roach and Rudd.
Dad then had a go, and caught 3 Roach and a Rudd while Pete had a wander round.
When he came back he took over and caught a Chub.
We fished quite high up in the water, and they seemed to take the bait as it was dropping down.
All were nice looking fish, the Chub being the biggest.
A lovely evening, will be doing it again soon.
All these fish have been logged down in the yearbooks for the 'Most Species of Fish' competiton.

Horseshoe - 28th May 08
I fished here for the first time since we started putting fish in 2+ years ago.
I caught LOADS of fish.
The Rudd were stunning, lovely & golden with bright red fins, absolutely gorgeous!!!
Michael caught 1
Di, Pete, Liam & Tom D all watched me pull fish in!!!
I fished peg 15
Sadly the coots nest got trashed by something, maybe an animal.

Diane, Rob and Liam went to Horseshoe lake on the evening of 30th July.
Diane (peg 10) caught 6 or 7 roach, 2 biggish perch and an EEL AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!! it was awful, but another one for my list!
Liam sorted it out for me, thanks Liam! he got slimed for his trouble. YUK.
Liam (peg 9) caught roach mainly, probably more than me in the end as he jumped in my peg when I was packing down!!
Rob fished at the opposite side by the blue bench, peg 19, and he got 7 roach.
Diane fished deep, hence the eel! Liam & Rob fished shallow.
But we all caught, and enjoyed it on a lovely warm evening.
And guess what!! A steam train went passed and we waved at the driver!!!
